Smokey Burger on Pita


600g ground lean sirloin
3 tsp smoked salt
2 tsp pepper
4 slices of old cheddar cheese
4 pita bread
condiment of your choice: pickles, sliced tomatoes, sliced red onions, handful of salad greens, ketchup, mustard


mix ground lean sirloin with smoked salt and pepper, do not over mix it
form meat into 4 patties and keep in fridge to set for about 30 minutes
preheat the bbq for 5 minutes before grilling
grill the patties on a hot grill for 2-3 minutes on each side
place the slice of cheese on top of the patty once it’s flipped the first time
warm the pita bread on the grill for a minute or so, do not burn them
assemble the burger with condiments of your choice

#P&Y Tips:

the smoked salt add extra smokiness to the burger as they get grilled on the bbq, you can use any salt of your choice

make sure you do not over mix the meat mixture as it will get tough, setting the patties in the fridge will firm up the meat just before grilling
